MAJOR GENERAL WILLIAM WALKER, USA RETIRED
Chief Security Officer, Allied Universal

General Walker served as the 38th Sergeant at Arms for the U.S. House of Representatives. He was entrusted with this critical role in the aftermath of the January 6th, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol, and unanimously elected by the 117th Congress. Walker was the chief law enforcement and protocol officer for the House of Representatives and approved all matters pertaining to the safety and security of Members of Congress, the House Office Buildings of the Capitol complex and the visiting public. Previously, he served by Presidential appointment as the 23rd Commanding General of the District of Columbia National Guard and led more than 27,000 Guardsmen providing security and logistical support to the U.S. Capitol Police and the Secret Service during the 59th Presidential Inauguration.

Prior to serving full-time in the Army, Walker retired from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) where he was a Special Agent and career Senior Executive Service member. Walker held various national and foreign diplomatic assignments of increasing significance and trust. He was a liaison to the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy and senior liaison to the U.S. Intelligence Community. He was detailed to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and served as the Deputy Director of the National Intelligence Coordination Center. His final DEA assignment was Deputy Assistant Administrator, Office of Strategic Intelligence and Warning.

His military career includes service in Afghanistan with the International Security Assistance Force. Walker was educated at the University of Illinois (BA), Chicago State University (MS), the National Intelligence University (MS), and American University (MA). He completed national security programs at Harvard, George Washington, and Syracuse Universities. Walker is a MIT International Relations Fellow and a National Academy of Public Administration Fellow. He is a member of the Economic Club of the District of Columbia and a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
